Question Word 2003 envelope address printing

I have recently purchased a new computer running under Windows XP Home Edition. I loaded Microsoft Office 2003 Pro. I am able to print letters and other documents from Word 2003 as well as print from the notepad, however, when I go to print addresses on envelopes nothing prints. Looking at the view of the envelope on the screen everything looks fine. I just can't seem to get what I see to print on my envelopes. Any ideas?

Word 2003 non-printing envelopes

I can print regular Word documents and from the notepad, but nothing is showing up on the envelope. I'm having a similar problem at work but it prints the return address only.

What Make /Model printer?

What method of envelope feed - Manual or Tray?

Are you using Mail Merge?

Are you using an Address saved into a Word document?

What other methods have you tried?

Word 2003 envelope non-print

I have a HP 820Cse Deskjet printer, I manually feed the envelopes, I have tried mail merge, and the addressed envelope is created in the Word document through the standard toolbar entry and mail merge. I have had to hand address envelopes. The printer was not a problem on my old machine using Office 97 and Windows 98, and I have no problem printing other things. The only issue that I recognize is that addresses will not print on envelopes even though they look okay when I view them on the computer screen.

This is one of those where you need to be sitting in front of the PC checking settings.

The only other thing I can think of is that you have got the wrong size envelope / orientation selected in the print setup.

Printing Address?

I also encountered this on someone's computer, using Microsoft Word
2003. The first time they showed it to me it worked and both addresses printed correctly, and then when they tried it again and it only printed the return address. It has me stumped as well. I tried upgrading to SP3, but it still did not work correctly. The same computer just a few steps away prints fine with the same settings on the same printer. I wish I had an answer myself. It could be in the settings, but I checked them briefly and it all seems to be okay to me. I might try running the detect/repair in Word in the Help Menu when I have time, but I believe I will need the disk.
