PC Has Frozen While Creating New Partition
Please, anyone who can help. I was creating a small partition ( 2 gigs ) on a drive using Partition Magic and after running all night, it appears the Partition Magic is no longer responding. The drive is an 80 gig drive, with about 58 gigs used and about 16 gigs free. Partition Magic recommended putting the partition at the beginning of the already used portion of the drive due to the fact that I will be installing Windows 2000 to the new partition. At first, it appeared to be working as it should, although slow, moving the used data to the end of the drive. After about 2 hours it showed the entire process to be 15% done, and the process of moving the data to be 9% done. Within an hour, the figures had advanced to 23% and 15% done. A little later, the figures had again advanced, but not much. They showed 23% done and 17% done. I left it and went to bed. When I got up 3.5 hours later, there had been no advanced in the figures. I have no other applications running. The computer is an HP running Windows 2000 Pro. Does it seem to anyone else that it might not be responding? Or maybe someone who has been in a similar situation would know if this is normal when creating a partition as I am. Any help is very appreciated.
