ACD Video Magic 1.0(sr-1)

Does anyone know what I have to do to get this program to re install on win xp,

I was having other problems & did a system restore & when I went to use video magic ,
I got a" corrupt installation " Error & it told me to reinstall the program , so I first tried the repair option
& I got an error 1722(problem with windows instsller package)
so I un installed & re installed the program.

Now when I click the icon it blinks a few times & changes color ,
then nothing. (the program does not start)
I have tried deleting the files for video magic in the program files
& comon shared files & its regestry folder in the software section.

I re installed but nothing changed,
I visited ACD but they only list support for ACDsee

I left a message for support & the dork told me to try delete the program file folder reboot & install windows media player 7 & direct x 8 and then re install video magic.

first off they don`t offer WMP 7 for xp, only WMP 8 that comes bundled with xp or the un supported WMP 9 series for xp.

second, I can`t get any direct x updates for xp because they are included in sp1 that I currently can not run due to
IDS (invisable desktop syndrome).

Third I dont think that has anything to do with that,

the software was origanaly a trial version with purchased upgrade key & when U un install it
says that if you un install you can not use it again.

I beleive this was their way of stopping people from defeating the trial lock.

If anyone knows how to solve this problem please give me some tips.

As ACD`s solution is that I should buy the upgrade V1.01

P.S. they should make it law that every software manufaturer
must include a file installation log in the program file folder.

Have fun guys
