Outlook XP not receiving or sending

hi, i have windows xp pro... office xp.. i have a router and i'm running norton internet security 2003.... recently i installed Norton Anti-Spam 2004... and when i went to receive email.. an error popped up.. i wasn't satisfied with NAS 2004 so i uninstalled it.. and now i can't receive or send email... this is the message i get

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Unable to cnnect to the incoming mail server (POP3). Please verify the port and SSL settings for the incoming server. To access these setting close this dialog, then click More settings and click on the Advanced Tab

and

Send Test email message: and it says the same thing

That's what happens when do a test.. when i'm actually receiving mail i get

Task - Sending and Receiving reported error (0x80042108) : Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming (POP3) email server.. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)

any ideas.. i've gone through all my settings and nothing has changed... as for the port and SSL settings... i've never changed those

I hope someone can help.. thanks

Well I know from past experience (Norton 2002) that Norton does change your email server settings and, when uninstalled, leaves them changed. So I would check carefully your server settings in the email accounts. If you have already done this and are satisfied then I'm stuck.

You may have to re-install Norton Anti-Spam in order to disable the "add-in" for Outlook. See here from Microsoft:

"Error message: 0x80042108 Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming POP3 e-mail server"
