Norton Ghost

I have Norton Ghost 2003. When I go into backup, hit next, and in the source tab it says Disk 1 - No Ghost Disk ID, and under that it says C which is my hard drive. For some reason my D drive isn't being detected. I tryed this with both of my computers, and neither detect the cdrom drive. One has a Plextor dvd burner, and the other a Sony cd burner. Do have to tweak something for Norton to detect my devices?

Use Powerquest's aka Symantec's Drive Image. It works a lot better then Norton Ghost.

Ghost (2003) has an internal table of supported CD/DVD devices which it will write to. It also carries its own drivers for these supported devices, with no facility for the user to add drivers. If your device is not supported this may well be the cause of your problems. But, as advised, I would contact Symantec support at the web address at the back of your documentation.
Because of this restriction on supported CD/DVD drives I gave up on backing up to CD/DVD and bought a second HDD with which Ghost works fine.
