I looked at some of the other Ghost posts but didn't see anything specific on this. I have Norton Ghost 2002 and I use it all the time to copy one hard drive to another and it works flawlessley, but I have a question about image file backups.
I made a Ghost Boot Disk and asked it for support of CD and CDRW (the first pick on the menu) and then proceeded to bootup with the Norton Ghost. I had no problems transferring the image copy to my DVD drive and the only thing was it was incorrect in telling me how many cd's I needed because I was actually using DVD's but the image file xferred correctly to DVD in the correct proportion of file size on the disk. OK, that worked fine but I had this problem. I had it make the DVD a bootup DVD but that didn't work but I didn't care. I booted up from the A: floppy Norton Ghost Disk and then tried to copy the image file to a hard drive. The problem, it couldn't find my DVD Drive. I didn't give up though, I put my WinME starup disk in and asked it to initate CDrom files on startup and then at the A" prompt just switched to my D

VD drive and entered the ghost.exe file and copied the image file and Ghost said clone complete and it worked just fine. Bottom line, anyone have any ideas why Ghost lets me save image files to my DVD drive or CD drive and recognizes them in that way, but cannot recognize them when trying to read the image file on the CD or DVD.
