Windows Media Player 9.0 FLAC Error

I attempted to play a .flac file through Windows Media Player 9.0. The file did play after I downloaded and installed some necessary components. I now receive and error message and the program crashes, when I attempt to play any other type of audio media. The error is as follows:

Code: 0xc0000005
Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x0000000000000000
Address: 0x0000000045c7c033

I sent the error report.

The online "web help" and the error utility that comes with the media player has been of no use.

I am running Windows XP:

Home Edition
Norton Antivirus 2003

Can somebody please assist me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Uninstall the MP9 plugin and use a different player for your *.flac files such as Winamp.

I am checking the links now. By the way, how should I go about uninstalling the plugin. Thanks

I believe that there is a way for *.flac files to be played on Media Player Classic.

You believe there is a way... I believe there is a way to make Bill Gates a decent honest man but no one has done it yet.
