Problem with Microsoft Outlook web access

Hello,

I am using this program to check my boss' emails as part of my job duties. I can no longer reply to any emails. All I get is a blue reply box with an x in the corner. What has happened?

Mike

What operating system?

Outlook or Outlook Express?

If Outlook, which version?

Are you using an Exchange Server?

Do you have an anti-virus program running in the background? If so, which one and what version?

I was afraid you were going to say that. Sadly, I know nothing about configuring, using or troubleshooting an Exchange server.

Does your business have an IT department? If so, give them a call and see if they can find the solution. If not, hopefully someone will come along here who can help.

Do you have the URLScan Security Tool
If so, you need to find urlscan.ini file (windir\System32\Inetsrv\Urlscan) and reconfigure it.

By default, the URLScan utility blocks access to messages that contain the following characters in the Subject box

..
./
\

Cool Solving Outlook Problems

You need to know all your Outlook account information and configure it properly. But that won't help you depending on if things are setup right in the Exchange Server.

The only realistic thing to do is to contact your IT department and get them to fix it. And make sure to keep contacting them everytime there's a problem. Contact them daily. Or hourly. Soak up all their time with Outlook and Exchange problems so that they have no time for anything else.

Eventually they'll get angry enough to demand that the management fork out the cash for software that works properly and doesn't require so much support time from them.

That's the real solution to the problem.

If you've got REAL information for a REAL email server (i.e. Not Exchange), then you can simply enter the email account and server info as normal. That's all straight-forward.
