Nero 6 Ultra Edition won't burn cds

I just bought this program and was trying to burn a cd. I keep getting burn failed errors and it says illegal burn. What the hell is wrong with it? I was able to do the same burn with Musicmatch and my old Nero was fine.

A couple things can cause this

Trying to burn too fast on a slow disk
for example 16x write speed on a 8x disk

The drive is overheating due to poor cooling fans
Temporary Fix : Try turning off the pc for awhile and taking the side panel off while burning
Fix Add a couple more fans to the tower

Another thing that can cause this is some readers work better with certain disks, If you have a friend with a burner and they use a different cdr brand try one of their disk
(obviously you don't want to go out buying every brand to test this)

I had the basic version of Nero before this so I'm pretty certain its a software issue not hardware.

What's your system configuration? Newer software eat up more of your system memory and cpu cycles. This may probably not be the case, but try freeing up some ram by closing some apps that are resident in you computer's memory. If between your "burn failed errors" you get an "buffer under-run error" this might be your problem. If this is not the problem try re-installing the software.
