Mac man seeking folder-icon advice. NEW to PC's.

Heya A/all.

Always have used Apple's, but for financial reasons have now acquired a Dell Dimension 2400. OK., so My issue? How the hell do I change the appearance of folder icons on My desktop to something more appealing than brown-folders? Must be an easy way, have tried the folder-icon app' but it don't seem to work for Me. Perhaps I AM stupid, but need some advice, to be hand-hel;d through the process or an easy application that'l do it for Me.

Right click on the folder you want to change, left click on Properties, go to the Customize tab. Click the "Change Icon" button. You can pick the icon you want to use for that folder from those displayed or you can use the Browse button to navigate to a different icon.

Or, still on the Customize tab, you can click the "Choose Picture" button and use any picture on the drive.

System folders do not have the option to change their icons.
