Not sure this is the correct forum to post this, so I'll give a brief description, and you can tell me where to go (so to speak).
In November of 2001, I got a new (by 10th in 20 years) computer running XP-Home. I upgraded it to XP-PRO, and upgraded Office 2000 to Office 2002 (XP) Professional.
I transferred over all my data from my previous WIN 98 (the one with Office 2000) machine. I copied over the .pst file (and .pab file) to my XP machine with OFFICE 2002 (XP). After a couple of months I started to notice "phantom" email addresses appearing when I did an ALT-K to complete a recipeints address. It would list two or three or more email addresses for an individual that I had long ago deleted from my address book and Contacts.
In other words, my friend Joe sent me a new address of
joe@newaddress.com, I would replace his old address (joe@oldaddress.com) with the new one. When sending Joe an email, I would ALT-K and BOTH addresses would pop up as selections. Some times an address will pop up to someone I had only replied to but did not add to my address book or contacts. I would search in vain for those phantom addresses, but can never find them.
This is the SHORT explanation. You should see me when i get wordy. ANy assistance would be greatly appreciated, as this is driving me crazy.
Much thanks,
