Angry Norton 2005 & FTP!

I decided to try out Norton 2005, figured it's best to try the new stuff out and keep protected. What a bad idea that was. It somehow managed to royally fudge up my computer.

I can no longer ftp to anything, not with a client or via a browser.

Can anyone please help me, I am a webdesigner and have some sites that need completing by the end of the weekend. Having no FTP, I can't complete anything.

I don't wanna have to clean format XP...again.

Any help would be greately rewarded, please I am in a complete bind!

Thanks in advance,
Simon

Hi there,

Do you know if you are using specific ports for FTP? Have you tried configuring them in Norton?

One quick check to see if it's Norton that's buggered your system, is to open up Norton and disable the firewall (temporarily) and see if you can use FTP.

I'm using NIS 2005 at home as well, and I am able to download off ftp sites without any problems. let us know how things go.

Cheers

I don't know what's up, I installed Norton, turned off the Windows Firewall also.

I have SP2 installed, but it only started doing this when I installed Norton 2005!

All I get from every FTP account is, "connection timed out"

I have removed Norton 2005, and all.

Could the FTP ports still be blocked even after its been uninstalled?
