VNC connection issues via internet

I cannot use VNC to control a computer behind an ActionTec GT701-WG DSL Router. After dutifully searching the FAQs and many other googling references, I believe I'm getting through to my W2K Pro computer, but still cannot get it to work.

Leaving out much and getting to the point, from the client side I get a 10061 socket error, while on the server side I'm getting these entries logged into the Windows event logs (in this order):

1) "SocketManager: unknown network event for listener"
2) "HTTPServer: untrapped: read: Connection reset by peer (10054)"

In another run, the server events are (in this order):

1) "Connections: accepted: 204.1.226.228::39743"
2) "SocketManager: unknown network event for listener"
3) "Connections: closed: 204.1.226.228::39743 (write: Connection reset by peer (10054))"

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
