Question PCMCIA driver slot absent in System Manager

In my system manager window (or whatever it is called on english language laptops) the PCMCIA slot does not appear and thus does not recognise PCMCIA cards when inserted and consequently cant' load their drivers etc.. The only PCMCIA slot present/recognised is one, for my machine, slotting in the Flash memory card.
I went in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\pcmcia and there, indeed, is that PCMCIA driver bus file from Microsoft dated 29/02/02 under n° 5.1.2600.2180 weighing 117 Ko.
How to fix that non loading/recognition of my main PCMCIA slot? Registry error?
In advance, thks!
