IE - Photo format changed to Bitmap

I am using Internet Explorer as my browser. Recently, when I try to save the photos/pictures on the web, they are in the format of bitmap only (with the filename "untitle"). The file size is very large when compared with jpg format. Before, I also had this experience but just occassionally and only for a few website. Now, every website is the same including my own website that I am sure the photos are in jpg format instead of bitmap. Could somebody please tell me how to solve this problem so that I can save the photos in jpg format?
