Problem with RAR file

Hey guys I downloaded a 1gig single rar file (Ulead video studio 8). When I tried to extract it, only a small autoplay file came out, which needless to say, didn't work.

I did a virus scan on the file and according to norton, it scanned 7000 files. Where did all the other files go? Why is a 1 gig file only extracting about 1 meg of data? Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

What are you trying to extract it with? Some programs will not handle an archive that big. You could try Izarc or 7zip. You can also test the archive with those tools first for inconsistancies.

Many zip tools have right click menu options. When I right click on a zip file (archive) with Izarc for instance, I get a 'test' option. Izarc will then run through the archive and look for errors, inconsistancies, or corruption. Works very nice on suspect downloads as downloads can be damaged.
