Lost email address'

A week ago I purchased and installed McAfee Virusscan 2005,ver.9.0. Since then it seems my computer has slowed down a lot. Seem to take forever to load some things now. Is this normal? Also the stored email address' in my outlook express account has disappeared. I re-entered a couple of them two days ago, and today they are gone also. Could this have been caused by McAfee? If not, what may have caused it. I did not have problems before I installed McFee.

I have Win XP Home
IE 6.0.. all critical updates

Dell XPS T700r
384 RAM

Question: Do you need to enter a password in order to open your email ? (Is you local email password protected)

because I have seen Norton finds the password protected PST file as a virus and quickly put them in quarantine folder.
