Question about Windows Media Player 10

I have had this problem for a while, Media player doesnt reconize my CD-R drive. I have tried basically everything. When i go to the CD-R properties, it sas Location: Location 0 (0).. It's like saying the disc drive is deleated, how can i fix this. i have tried to reinstall the drive and that doesnt work. Someone plz help!!

Location 0 (0) is normal. Mine says that for one of my optical drives and it works fine.
If the drive is recognised by other applications (eg a burning application or some other media player, then I would say WMP10 is to blame, not Windows and not the drive.
I do know that there have been a few problems with WMP10.
