Windows Media Player Problem

I asked this on the XP forum already.
It was sugested thay I remove windows media player..then download it again.
I went to add/remove windows media player 10, but it backed out WMP 10 to WMP 9.

I DL'd WMP 10 and when executed it upgraded WMP 9 to WMP 10.

It still has the following problem:

On some websites that stream video, I get a popup box saying:

Illegal Operation In Plugin
Windows Media Player Plug-In Dynamic Link Library
The plugin performed an illegal operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator.

I am using XP Home Edition, Windows Media Player 10 and Netscape 7.

I know that Netscape is not the problem because IE also has a problem on the same sites but without the popup box. IE just freezes.

Restarting Netscape does not fix the problem.

How can I fix this??

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your quick responce.

The WMP 10 was just downloaded form the MS site, I would assume that what ever updates are included.

And no, not all sites have this problem.

There is a BUG in DX9c...... delete it if you can and reinstall DX 9B

Other than that You can check your codec setup, try G-Spot, it'll id all the codecs and tell you if any are 'broken'.

luck
