Media Player 10 DVD Prob

The first time I noticed the problem was AFTER I upgraded to WMP 10. I have XP and every time you insert a DVD movie disc, it pops up asking what program you want to use. I have my own DVD player software that I prefer over WMP's. This didn't matter. No matter what I selected in that AutoPlay box, it opened WMP. Obviously, a glitch, so I try to get around it.

I go into Tools->Options->File Types and uncheck DVD. I hit OK (and even Apply first). Hit Tools->Options->File Types again and, guess what, DVD is rechecked. Yeah, I'm ticked off. I'm sure it's just a programming error or something, but it sucks that it won't let me do what it should do.

Does anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried uninstalling WMP10?

Why un-install WM10? he may have this as his default music player.

It also happens to me sometimes, dont know the cause sorry.

The problem is at the bottom of the 'FILETYPES' list.

UNCHECK 'MICROSOFT RECORDED TV SHOW' as well as 'DVD'

That will do it, worked for me. (Same problem)
