microsoft anti spyware

i downloaded m/s antispyware beta the other day.
ive run it a few times and its never actually found any spyware, but if i run ad-aware straight afterwards it always finds the usual suspects.

is it rubbish, or am i doing something wrong when i set it going?

Ad-Aware reports banner advertisement cookies...

Cookies: used by websites to keep track how many times advertisement has been viewed, so they can show new advertisement in your next visit - doesn't do any harm.
