sportsinteration.com appears

Hi,

An icon appeared on my desktop called sportsinteration.com icon. Some kind of sports betting thing. I don't know how it got there. Probably through some web site I was on.

Anyway, can this just be removed the usual way through control panal - add/remove software ? Or is there another way to do it.

I ask because of the nature of how it got there. I did some searches on it, and it seems like a safe program, however I don't want to click on it, and start using it. When I go to Stars/All Programs, there is no uninstall option for it.

Thanks.

Control panel > add & remove. I would start there first.

It does not appear under add/remove in control panel. It is on the desktop, and it is under Start/All Programs. It is also under Start/All Programs at the top part by Windows Updates, etc. I wonder if this never got installed, but is waiting to be installed.

Right click on the icon and delete it. That should take care of it.

That worked. Looks like it was just a link on my desktop, and a favorites in IE. Got rid of both. Hopefully that is it.
