Changing Bit Rate in Media Player

I've just about maxed out my hard drive with music. A lot of the music files are at 160 and 192 Kbps. As near as I can tell 128 works well, though the serious aficionados pass me music at about 160.

Anyway, what's a simple way to use Media Player to change the bit rate?

Your question isn't too clear. Do you mean you want to change the bit rate of your saved files - if so you will need to re-convert the, there are many free free conversions programs out there.

as far as I am aware WMP will not convert fmp3 files.
