VB6 install problem on winXP Home

Hi there,

I am a newbie learning vb6. I downloaded vb6 sp6 from microsoft site http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

The file size is 27 mb approx. I extracted the file as advised on the site. When I ran setupsp6.exe, I was prompted for setup.

During setup after accepting the eula, the setup showed message "Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 6 Setup was not completed successfully". It does not matter if I select "accept" or "decline" option.

I then tried to download whole Visual Studio (62 mb) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

There is no luck this time too!

Can someone help me out? Do I need to buy before installing the studio or vb6 module?

Cheers

Robert
