HELP AIM Signing on and off constantly

I'm on a college campus, so all the obvious ones as far as connection, network, firewall, broadband(not sure what type tho) anyways when I'm signed on AIM it will sign me off then auto-reconnect right away constantly anywhere from every 5 minutes to a half an hour apart. Anyone know how to stop this? It's really startin to piss me off.
