I was trying to sort out why some DVDs I rented or got @ my library play on my cpu's built-in DVD player & why some did not... I was running thru some suggestions the Interactual Player site recommended, including updating my version of DirectX from 8.0 to 9.0. which I did, another recom. they made was to uninstall the Interactual Player and reinstall it, using the logic I suppose, that my version might be corrupted . When I searched my Application Recovery Disk f/my Sony Vaio desktop PVC-RX462D AFTER I uninstalled the Interactual Player, I could not find the software on the Rec. Disk! Yes, a stupid move I made. Could that decoder(apparently the Interactual Player contains the decoder for my system, and the error message I get when I install a DVD now indicates an error message to that effect...
Anyone come up with a similiar problem? The obvious other software on my Rec. Disk like DVD Express & Media Bar DVD Player do not contain that decoder. Where is it, I am wondering? Thanks for any suggestions.
