Outlook Express - Large Attachments

I am getting sent emails with large attachments which send&receive seems to ignore - they are just left on the server whilst 'normal' sized emails are downloaded. My isp says it will be a problem with outlook express - has anyone come across this before ? Anyone found a solution ? ?
