Closing/Blocking an E-mail address

Hello,
pls could someone help me give me the procedures for blocking an e-mail adress from existing. Maybe u dont want pople to send u e-mail to that adress again.

Are you wanting to block certain people from your email account or are you wanting to get rid of the email account completely or are you wanting any mail sent to that account to be automatically sent to another email address?

How you do any of those depends on what kind of email account it is...web mail (like Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) or email service provided by your ISP...and how you check your mail...access it through a browser or use an email program (Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.).
