font problem with a game

I have a game wich my kids love called 'Kar'oo' it's a 3d platform type game. I wonder if anyone can please help?
It ran fine on win98 but now I have winxp pro. The game runs fine but on the menu wich has load,save,quit and so-on, I can see the boxing gloves but no font. Do I need a font installing on my system? if so, which one? I hope someone has this game who can help.

Did you try right clicking on the game's icon - properties - compatibility - set for 98 and see if that helps.
