codec problems

i have a codec problem and recently some movies i transfer to dvd have no sound.i have downloaded the latest mpeg 4 codecs but this does not help.can anybody tell me how i can get sound to work on these movies.

Well. A bit more info could help. What programs are you using to play, convert, burn?
