PowerDVD affecting other sounds

Whenever i finish playing a movie on PowerDVD, sound from all the other players disappear. Windows Media Player 10, VideoLAN, Limewire, Realplayer and system sounds can't be heard anymore. I have to keep doing system restore which i find annoying but some of my dvds dont play on wmp10 so i keep using PowerDVD. The only way i can get the other players to have sound is to keep PowerDVD running too.

Is there a reason why PowerDVD affects the sound?
Is there something i can do about it?
