Unhappy Need help after Flashing Bios

Ok, I have a Intel D845PT motherboard so i went to the Intel web site and located the Bios Flash Utility. Downloaded it and ran it as instructed. Now when I turn on my Pc this Error Message comes up- PXE-E61:media test failure,
check cable
PXE-MOF:exiting Intel PXE Rom
Boot Failure: System halted
Screen was black with just those error messages, no keys worked but Ctrl+Alt+Delete, which boots it up. I have to do this everytime i turn on PC, any help or advice would be most appreciated.

Rob

Sounds like your computer is trying to boot from a network card. Go into your bios and check things out. Make sure your boot order is correct. Make sure you are not trying to boot a lan.

Unhappy Bios help

I'm still having the problem when I boot up. I've checked the Bios settings, disabled the lan and still nothing. Is there maybe a jumper on the motherboard I have to set to flash the Bios. I have a D845PT Intel motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you flash the board successfully? Check the version number which can be see when computer boots. If the new bios is not working, flash again with the older version. I know nothing about jumper settings needed for bios change.

Flashing a motherboard is very risky business. You should not do it unless you are experiencing problems.

Best method is to flash from a floppy. Online flash is very risky.

PXE-E61 is often related to cables not being correctly inserted or perhaps loose.
