DVD back-up software

Hello all,

I am looking for software to back-up my protected DVDs and CDs. I would like to be able to copy from one DVD drive to another, without having to create temporary files on the hard drive. Does anyone know of any cheap software that is available to do this?

..."without creating temporary files on the hard drive" is a tough one. All of the good s/w does that, I don't know of any that does not. However, the above link is the right place to ask the question.

Try out DVD Shrink. Although as previously stated, finding one that does not go to your HDD first is a toughy. I use the Shrink, then delete the files after backup is complete. Besides, I like to test my backups first, then if they're OK I'll delete the files, if not I'll do it over again.

To copy "on the fly" you would need to be copying a 4.7G DVD to a 4.7G. You could not shrink a 9G onto a 4.7G. Also, DVDSHRINK has no burning capability, it needs the support of burning s/w, such as Nero.

That will actually take longer that way than if you copied to the HDD first, then burned the DVD, especially if both drives are on the same channel.
