Angry Lost address book

Hi all,

I hope this is posted in the right forum.

I am a OAP and fairly new to computers. I have imported my address book from IE6 to BTYahoo mail and everything worked ok untill this morning when my wife, who still uses IE6 went to the address book and it had gone. I have tried to export it back but it wont go. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me please.

Thanks in advance,

Ken.

You probably mean 'OE6' (Outlook Express 6), not IE6. 'IE6' is Internet Explorer and that does not have an address book. Perhaps you were simply using the wrong program to export the Address Book back into?
Anyway, the Windows Address Book is a file with a name based on the user's name and ending in .WAB (for example, MYNAME.WAB). Use the Windows search assistant and type in *.WAB (that's an asterisk, then a period, then WAB), then click Search. If it exists, the search assistant will find it. If found, make a note of it's location. Open Outlook Express, click on 'File - Import - Address Book'. Navigate to the location you just made a note of, when you find the file click it to make it appear in the 'File Name' bar. Then click 'Open'.
