Please Help!!! Big Problem!!!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this fourms. Long time reader first time poster. I bought a new computer, a sony VGC Rb30. It has one gig of ram, 200 gig hard drive, 3 ghz w/ Hyper Threading. For some reason I have had a problem with it since day one, I've formatted it 5 or 6 times because it always encounters a problem after a couple weeks. Now I am just sick of it, it's extremly slow and it's very irritatting. I cant go on msn while downloading something. I cant run any anti virus scan because my computer will restart if I do, same with anti spyware scan. I am in desprate need for help. I have this decent PC going to waste, I cant run many any applications at all... I cant burn a dvd... I cant do anything ....PLEASE HELP!!

Hiya Versatile
If i had to, i would hazard a guess at this being some sort of software conflict. Do you use Norton for example?
Also, when you run your spyware etc, open Task Manager to see what is using all your resources.

Thank you so much for responding. I have Kasperky Antivirus. Nothing really uses my resources because when it does, i cant do anything to check , lol. I use Adaware for scanning, I tried and it restarts my comp everytime its in the middle of a scan, very irritatting. Is it some sort of worm?

I doubt it's a worm after all these re-installs

At this point i would try running the sytem file checker. Type sfc /scannow in to your Run box (note the space after sfc). I doubt this will work though
I have the feeling there is definately a conflict somewhere, either software or hardware.
Let us know how you get on in the other thread and we'll continue from there

Is this a new computer Versatile?
I would get in touch with whoever you bought it off. I'm inclined to think there is a hardware/software conflict going on. I would have thought it was a hardware conflict though.
It could even be something over-heating because it only crashes when your doing something resource-heavy. Are the fans working properly?
