Help Me!!!!!!!!

On another laptop I was playing around and it froze. So I restarted it. And now everytime I turn it on it gets to the Windows XP log-in screen and I get this error something like: 0x77c47e9f referenced memory at 0x00000041. Memory not read. you can choose, okay or cancel. both do nothing. I can't get past the login screen. PLEASE HELP!

Have you tried booting in to safe mode nfare? (press f8 repeatedly when rebooting)

I just tryed that. All this white writting on a black background came up and then nothing else happened. should I have waited longer??

yes sometimes it takes a while for safe mode to boot up. but by the white writing on a black background that you said, you did it right, just wait longer
