Hi. One of my software programs began giving error messages so I decided to re-install it. Unfortunately, as I progress through the install process, I get an error message that reads: Error 1312. Cannot create the directory C:/Windows/Downloaded Program Files. A File with this name already exists. Please rename or remove the file and click Return.
I found the file, but it won't let me rename or remove it. I have sent an email to the software support...but they haven't replied and that was a few days ago. Is there someway to rename this file? Thanks, John.
If you havle the disk to re-install, you could uninstall/delete/remove the program first and then try installing it again.
In the add/remove programs list [via control panel] and then you could use MoveOnBoot if you have trouble removing files.
