Internet access/firefox 1.07 problem

Hi. Have a problem. I Just bought a new pc.. dell xps 600.. anyhow I installed firefox 1.07 on it and It will not connect to the internet.. Neither does AIM or any of the other programs. EXCEPT IE..


I went into the Set Program Access and defaults and setup firefox and AIM.. But they still wont connect. Is there something im overlooking? Thanks in advance!

Ok. I was having other problems with my new pc so i called dell.. The tech guy wasn't sure what was going on.. Anyhow We deduced that it could have been a virus.. So I went to see and Dell gave me a TRIAL version of norton antivirus.. I had systemworks05 so i thought it would be better to get the full version .

I uninstall the trial software and BAM.. things start working again.

So it seems that the trial version of Norton was causing all these problems.

Werid. But it everything works now.
