WMP 10 ripping problems.

Hi,
Two days ago while I was ripping some tracks, my CD ROM drive stopped working. The green indicator light just kept flashing quickly. Same for my hard drive light.
Tonight, I ripped 15 CD's using my DVD player/writer.
And now it stopped halfway through a track and just stopped cold.
Then, with subsequent tracks, it ripped all the tracks and started with the first again!
I've got a 6 month old EMachine, AMD 3.1, 1G. memory and 160 G. hard drive.
I've only ripped about 400 tracks so far.
Hope somebody can help.
