Media Player 10

I am trying to download Windows Media Player 10..but I keep getting a pop up window saying that it didn't pass the windows logo testing to complete verification... and will therefor, not be installed..... what do I do to fix this?

What version do you have at present? Have you tried updating it at Windows Update? Don't know how a Windows product can't pass its own logo testing.

First of all, are you using SP2?
Secondly, check that all drivers are up-to-date.
By Windows logo testing, do you mean if Windows is a valid copy? That's what I'll assume, but if that's not the case, then just ignore this.
To see if Windows is "valid":
1. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...s/default.mspx
2. Hit the Validate Now button. if necessary, install the ActiveX control necessary. If your system fails, then it probably is restricting your computer for that specific reason. If it passes, then you probably have an outdated driver or incompatible hardware.
