Python...

I have had Python for a very long time now and all I can seem to do is create "simple programs" and not any of that "cool" stuff like a game or something like that. Could anyone help me with that or give me a link with directions? PLEASE don't tell me to go to python.org because that site just confuses me with how to do the things.

P.S. Could anyone help me find a program that converts .py into .exe?

If compilers are the things that change it from .py to .exe then yes. But I would like to try to make "simple" games from Python. Could someone give me some directions?

I don't really know anything about Python but I imagined there was some sort of API to help.

This is what I found:
http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/pub/a/...09/21/sdl.html

It's SDL: multimedia library API.
