Unhappy Lost DOS partition, HELP

Somehow my partition table to my drive that contains all of my documents and programs (but not windows) got removed, so Windows does not know that the drive exists, but the information is still there. Partitionmagic says that where the partition used to be (NTFS) it is now unformatted. I have Norton Systemworks 2003 Professional. I heard that norton diskdoctor was able to search and fix lost DOS partitions, I saw it happen before, but the window to find the partitions isn't coming up. How do I get the option to look for a lost DOS partition while using the version from the CD. I cannot install the program onto the hard drive. I do not want to reformat the partition.
Please respond soon! Thanks for your time.
