snowmonkey - thanks but I needed something that is not software dependent - meaning I can take my backup somewhere else and still can see the files with the windows explorer.
oldtimer - you didn't understand, if I have for example a 20GB directory and I want to backup all of it in one instance, I need some software that can tell me "please insert disc 1", "...disc 2" and so on. This is called disc spanning. (And I did meant using DVD's)
So unless I find something better I found an excellent software called "Handy Backup" by Novosoft.
It does disc spanning + it copies the files "as is" to the DVD's.
It also has a very comfortable GUI.
so my problem is finally solved...
