outlook express - leave emails on server?

hi, i have a pc and a laptop. i use outlook express for email checking on both machines.

my pc is my main computer, so i like to have records of all my emails in outlook express on my pc.

but i would like to use outlook express on my laptop too.

is there a way where i can download, view and reply to emails using outlook express on my laptop - but they still are on the server - so that when i turn my pc on i can download those same emails.

i know with pocket pc email, you can download, view and respond to emails, then when i turn my pc on those same emails download to outlook express because the pocket pc does not completely download them from the server.

thanks!

In Outlook Express, go to Tools>Accounts and click once on the account your use to select it. Then click on the Properties button. Go to the Advanced tab.

There you'll find several options for leaving copies of messages on the server. The "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items' folder" seems to work the best. Using that you won't have to dump spam twice.

Keep in mind that most mail servers have a size limit on mailboxes. Leaving messages on the server forever may reach that cap and no further messages will be accepted until you delete messages from the server.

oldtimer, i can do this too with my cable - its called webmail... but thats exactly what i want to avoid. webmail has limited options for formatting etc because its a web based system.
i would prefer to use outlook - so thankyou Miz for that information, it will come in handy indeed!
