Problems instaling Panda Platinum internet security 2006

Recently, I bought the panda platinum internet security software 2006 (I am using windows XP home edition). Unfortunately, installing the program is not possible, since it lets me know that it finds traces of Bit defender anti-virus. However, bit-defender was deleted already a long time ago, and is not included in the configuration/software/add/remove section. I also removed all traces of bitdefender from the registry, but Panda still refuses intallation, and seems to find traces of bit defender. Can someone give me some advise?

Return Panda and get your money back would be my first choice. Not that Panda is bad or anything. I just don't have time for problematic software.

Try running a registry cleaner would be worth a try. Make sure to do a backup first. Reg cleaners can screw up a system. CCleaner is very safe.

If that dosn't work you could reformat and do a fresh install. Then you could install Panda.

Why not just install Avast or Avg? They are free and do a sterling job.
