Outlook losing hotlinks in mailmerge

I want to send out a blanket email using our contacts with the mail merge which works fine - but the email contains some hotlinks which do not remain active when the recipient gets the email.

I have made sure all the hotlinks work before the mailmerge sends the emails.

Can anyone help me with this or suggest a dedicated Outlook forum ?
