Digital camera and Photoshop

I've got a "Canon Powershot S 10" digital camera and Photoshop 7.0, and my question is:

In the camera, I can make it display the date and time of the picture, but when I import the pictures to Photoshop all I get is the image. Is there some way to get the time & date data imported to? Maybe displayed on the picture or something?

Please let me know if you have a clue, cause I don't.

I dont know anything about Photoshop. How are you downloading the pics? With Photo or Canon's software? There should be a provision in the software for renaming and time stamping the pics. I have that option in my program but there is a gliche - if I rename the pics whilst downloading, my photo editor says they have the wrong file extension so i have to go through them one by one and rename them again. The moral of the story is I gave up renaming them and i'm too lazy to look for a solution.
If you come across something that works let me know ... thanks.

Answer..

Well after been in contact with both Canon and Adobe, I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible.

The Adobe software just doesn't recognize the infofile that contains date and time, it just grabs the image files..

So, now I'm writing that info from the camera display to the "File info" in the pic manually...

So if there's a programmer out there with knowledge about this, this would be the time to write a patch of some kind to get Adobe Photoshop to recognize the time&date info from Canon cameras
