No sound on Video Professor CD

My wife is attempting to learn Excel using a Video Professor disc that says 2000 2002 2003 that she got from the place where she works. Our computer's operating system is MS2000 Professional.
We aren't getting any audio when we run the disc. My wife has used the disc at work, and it does play the audio there.

Our computer has a DVD/CD drive and a CD drive, and we don't get any sound when attempting to use either one.
Has some one else had this problem? If so, do we need to install some kind of drive. We would really appreciate it if some one might help us out.

Try to play the disc with this free player:

VideoLan has its own codecs. If you can play the disc in VLC, the indication is your system is missing a codec. Give it a try, and we'll go from there. (Put the disc in the drive, close, open VLC, go to:File -> Open disc.)

[EDIT] Also, it's possible autostart is disabled on your computer.
