Smile Looking for catalog software

Hi there I was wondering if someone could help me..

I'm looking for some software that will help me to catalog a lot of files and graphics at work.

My job is to compile proposals using a combination of standard content and custom-written material. The proposals are usually around 200-300 pages. The files I want to organise are the standard blurbs about the different services we offer, plus various logos and graphics associated with them. I'd like to set up a library of all of these files that each of the sales managers can access easily, search for and cut-and-paste from to use as they need to.

I'd like to also be able to:

- Assign keywords to files or pictures to improve searching. Ideally, I'd like to set up categories that I can add files or pictures to.

- Set up "reminders" on a file or graphic that indicates to me when a file needs updating (like a graphic that will be out of use, or a statistic that will need updating).

- Allow for a number of different contibutors to add to the library, and about three people to have editing (deleting) rights. The contributors are not overly computer literate, so the adding function will need to be very simple. It will also need to prompt them to assign the new file to relevant categories and if it will need to have an "update reminder" attached to it.

- Generate an index of the library for reference. Also to be able to search by key word, file type, date added etc.

Any help or leads would be much appreciated! Thanks Prue

Hi, I have been using an older copy of ADC (Advanced Disk Catalog) by ElcomSoft.Com for years. Maybe it would do your job. It auto reads Disks, CDs etc. You can add Comments and Catagories. Will search for either File names, comments, catagories etc. Luck, Jim

I really don't understand what you are saying ut i i am corect about your statement. Find a thing that lets you look at your computer info. Or if youcant find one then there should be one on your computer. If that doesn't work , do what everyone doees. Google it . If that doesnt work ask a friend or computer nerd. And if that doesnt work , well.... I dont know what to telll you bro.
