Adjusting Screen Resolution

Hi Friends,

I am having a very funny problem for the past few days since I installed Windows XP. However, the prob does not seem to be completely related to it. I am unable to adjust the screen resolution. The thing won't move. The display is shown as "default monitor" and I would like to change it. Can anyone give me a nice "Kick"

Thanx in advance

Does it not show your graphics card as default. Look in Device manager, look for any yellow exclamation marks, anything showning as a fault.

Hope this helps

Thanx but I need more help

Thanx Friends for the help but I am completely illiterate about these matters. You were all correct about not having the drivers properly installed. I checked Device Manager. The Video Controller (VGA Compatible) is acompanied by a yellow"?".

What do I do now? I do not have any CD for reloading the drivers. This is a 17" LG monitor whichn was purchased several years ago. We were using Windows '98 till someone loaded XP a few days back. It was working decently till we upgraded. How do I know the other details to set this right?

Thanx for the help.

You need the VGA drivers for Win XP, what make and model is your comp, if you don't know get Everest http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

copy then paste into the post the MY Computer/Summary report it should give clues to what driver you need

Hope this helps
